Having put this movie in my top letterboxd movies I figured I should give it a rewatch.
It's the most Wes Anderson movie of all the Wes Anderson movies.
The aesthetics are to die for from little claymation split scenes to highly saturated, perfectly symmetrical framing that are so pleasurable to the brain. The witty dialogue and quirky characters had me watching with a dumb smile slapped across my face.
But the best part of his movies are always the relationships between characters; Zero and Gustave are no exception building an unlikely friendship that holds sentimental value to the hotel.
