Eh. A bit overexplained. Not as funny as if wants to be (what is up with the sauce joke did he think that was a home run?). Mostly just made me want to rewatch Moon.

This movie is so weird. Can’t imagine caring about the murder case or about the mayor being corrupt. Cary Grant disappears for like 45 minutes. They have a woman try to kill herself by jumping out a window and it’s not really relevant to the plot and I guess she survives but it’s not brought up again. And the guy who’s in prison for killing someone shoots another person during the movie and they’re just like “ahhh, that one is also not his fault.”
But when Rosalind and Cary are talkin’ fast?! Cmon!

Loved it, so much funnier than I expected! The repeated entrances of the score at the end were so good.
And less sex than I expected (good imo, less sinful)
Campbell and I have been talking about the dynamic in fiction of having two codependent friends where one is nice/reserved/awkward and is our primary protagonist, and the other is wild/outgoing/magnetic but less successful. And the former kinda hates but kinda wants to be the latter. Feels like it’s very common and almost always compelling. (Refusing to list examples to avoid embarrassing myself)
