The biggest problem with this movie is that Cheng's character is not sympathetic. She kills innocent tenants in an apartment building (including a pregnant woman!) to lower the property value of the flat she so desperately wants. But... why? The nonlinear narrative feels disjointed and even though there are scenes from her childhood to serve as a backstory, they don't properly explain what's so important about this particular flat.

This is such a shame because the kills in this movie were gruesome and imaginative, except since I hated Cheng's character so much I couldn't enjoy them. A really disappointing movie overall.

    Texas Chainsaw 3D

I honestly can't fully express how illogical this movie was, but I will say that Texas sure has some fine police-work. I'm glad to know that officers utilize facetime to distract their attention from the actual, very dangerous, crime scene that they're walking through. It's also good to know that if you're a chainsaw wielding maniac, the sheriff will let you murder the mayor without any repercussions!

I've seen all three of Fulci's "Gates Of Hell" Trilogy now, and if I've learned anything it's that Fulci has an obsession with eyes. I'm not sure if he hates them or loves them, because he both mutilates them frequently and focuses many shots on close-ups of different characters' eyes.

Fortunately for me, Fulci stayed away from the eye mutilating in this movie, it was all close-ups. And House By The Cemetery surprised me a lot. I wasn't expecting an…

    The Wait

The Wait moves at a painfully slow pace and is completely aimless. I'm not entirely convinced the makers of this movie knew how they were going to expand on the story before filming, they just badly improvised and created a pointless mess. Sure, some of the visuals can be beautiful, but they ultimately amount to nothing. It also features dull performances from otherwise good actors. I've never seen Chloe Sevigny so bored and lackluster.

Really don't recommend unless you want to watch an hour and a half of pretentiousness.
