There was a lady in the theater that laughed at every single (and I mean every single) “joke”in this immensely immemorable game-to-screen slop. She audibly gasped and jumped in her seat during obvious beats, gave a satisfied “ah hah” when the tables seemed to turn. The lowest barrier to entertainment I’ve ever witnessed.

Have rewatched a couple times now, and one thing that sticks with me....there's a scene earlier in the movie in which Jojo and his mother are walking along the river embankment. They start both on the shore and then his mother hops up onto the rock embankment itself. Taika keeps the shot on Jojo himself, which leaves, you guessed it, his mother's feet as the only other object onscreen.
Knowing the infamous feet scene that is coming later makes this…
