  Dafoe, Scorcese, and Christ are three of my favourite guys but these performances will nail you to a fucking cross.
  Somehow ahead of its time and so dated all at once.
  Would love to see a sequel.

  The process is the product. I hope art can still hurt this much to birth. It doesn’t make it better, but it reminds us that unending comfort is a lie and is our enemy. Sam Bottoms did drop acid while shooting but not during the scene where his character was tripping. For that moment he chose speed. Like Apocalypse Now, that’s either instructive or it is nothing at all.
