A perfect example of a narrative that unfolds; films are so much more engaging when we’re drip-fed pieces of information as the film develops. Hitchcock smashed it out of the park with this one; such a great use of the colours green and red, and some really advanced technical sequences for the time

Been on the watchlist for a long time, finally got to it. Raw, challenging, it reminded me of other works released at the time: Do The Right Thing, Boyz N The Hood, Menace II Society, etc. It’s a 90 minute practice in preemptive bereavement as you know these characters are products of their adverse environment and will not break the cycle of pain; it is systemic. As the title suggests hatred begets hatred, and unfortunately the most marginalized people experience hatred from all angles. Excellent

Stunning. Absolutely beautifully shot tale of how the immigrant experience post WW2 is highly romanticized, and how art can reflect/process trauma

Great commemoration for such a long standing show. A celebration of a cultural icon which demonstrated over 2.5 hours how much it shaped comedy across film and tv over the last 50 years. Loved playing guess the celebrity every time they cut to the audience
