    I was disturbed my entire watch, but I don’t think that was the target emotion.

    Tonally all over the place. Felt like I was being whipped around by bad comedy, dystopian politics, and whatever that Robert Pattison voice was. Because the comedy didn't land for me, the whole film felt so on the nose. While I wasn't really expecting subtly, I was expecting substance.
    And Mark Ruffalo stinks.

    Incredibly confusing film to start a half watch while eating and working. Don’t recommend.

    But eventually locked in and really enjoyed how the story unfolded. Narratively stimulating, I’m a bit of a sucker for multi-pov stories. And here I particularly appreciated how the answers weren’t spoon fed to you and the multi-pov piece wasn’t the entire films personality.

    So many emotions. At least I know I can still feel 🥲

    Absolutely loved this visually stunning Sean Baker masterpiece. It ran me through an experiential gauntlet, but that’s ultimately what I go to the movies for. 
    The pacing perfectly matched its whirlwind romance. The vibrant party scenes at the start felt like eye candy while the slow tearing down of Ani’s life like nails on a chalk board. The final, extremely uncomfortable and confusing sex scene  epitomized her misadventure.

    McDonagh really outdid himself with with this witty dialog. I thought Nikhil was good, but I wish we could actually banter like this.
    I was amazed at how I found myself vacillating between two seemingly simple characters. Loved their progression, while pretty over the top, it kept things interesting. And in the end, the despair finally set in - which I loved
