What did I just watch? With the amount of coke needed to make this movie, I’m surprised Rick James and Richard Pryor did appear at some point. Peter Frampton and The Bee Gees are horribly mismatched to cover the Beatles. Their voices are too smooth and it just makes all these iconic songs feel sterile at best and disco-fied butcherings at worst. Besides the narrator, there is zero spoken lines, leading to some truly cringy performances of Peter and The…

One of the best martial arts films ever. It’s on the level of crouching tiger, but on x3 speed. It’s goofy and lighthearted with some of the greatest choreography you’ll see.

    ★½

There was not enough substance to validate the runtime here.  Director Andrew McCarthy overhyped the fallout from the “brat-pack” article when every conversation boiled down to “Yeah, the brat-pack label sucked, but ultimately it was fine.” He never even goes into specifics about what the article even says, he just assumes the audience is well aware of a magazine article written in the 80s. In a post Quiet On Set landscape, this whole documentary just seems inconsequential in exploring the toxicity of the film industry. It’s just a bunch of pleasant interviews between old friends that get really boring really fast.
