  im usually well onboard with the idea of recognizing older queer films for their respective landmark status even in their failings but there is just something so thoroughly ghoulish and voyeuristic about this that im almost appalled by the idea of being grateful for it. the idea that this is what passed for a sensitive depiction is depressing. brandon teena was raped and murdered and it was ugly and violent but there has to be a better way of telling…
