  Wow, the cinematography. JC SANTOS WOW BEST ACTOR. Ending, mala MA'ROSA (siomai imbes na fishball). Pero sige, oks lang. JC SANTOS. Great ensemble cast, conversational, naturalistic. Well-written. Assured, focused direction by the Lat brothers. Heartfelt.

  When the wig-wearing Dennis Trillo used sign language against the sunset sky, and Ruru Madrid immediately judged it as the language of revenge, I knew right away it was the opposite. Predicting the twist early on ruined the experience for me.

  With golden-hour cinematography, packed with red herrings, heavy narration, and overly expository, GREEN BONES (which I initially suspected to be inspired by the '90s prison dramaTHE GREEN MILE) clearly aims for simplistic drama suited for all ages.

  It’s another one of those mainstream Filipino films that merely rely on pretty cinematography and dramatic coloring — and, of course, bankable stars — without putting much thought into the story.
