An adaptation of a Stephen King short story directed by Osgood Perkins, son of Anthony Perkins, that mixes horror and black comedy into a visually stunning hybrid that ultimately lacks any real scares. The story follows twin brothers who are haunted by a cursed toy monkey whose mechanics are reminiscent of James Wan's Final Destination franchise, but with even more exaggerated and grotesque deaths. Wolf Man 2025
Leigh Whannell returns to the Dark Universe with this reimagining of the 1941 classic, focusing on body horror and psychological drama. Megan Is Missing 2011
An inept, terrible movie, obviously calculated to exploit the shock value of mix up found footage and torture porn subgenres in one single feature. Starting from the usual plot about female victimization, the film feels like its pretensions of social denunciation were more about justifying the truculence and disgusting final act than really warning the audience about the dangers of sexual predators for 14 year old children. Absolutely forgettable.

The Elderly 2022
A dark and suffocating journey that addresses the themes of aging and intergenerational alienation through a grim horror lens. The film immerses the viewer in a suffocating and unsettling atmosphere, while managing to maintain a balance between social criticism and horror for much of its running time. Still, there is a lingering feeling that some aspects of the plot remain unexplored. Particularly noteworthy are the unsettling performances by Zorion Eguileor and the young Paula Gallego.
