c'est merde. before this came out, if someone had lexposted "hey, wanna go see a musical about a drug kingpin who's trans. there's a song about gender affirming surgeries and everything", i would have for sure 🚛 reacted, no questions asked. how do you fuck this up so badly? not even funny. the songs are boring. unfortunately this sort of garbage is about the level of "solidarity" i expect to get from the cis liberal media for the next four years. yay, we are saved.

The setting and world is disorienting, an uncanny valley of contemporary capitalist reality and a science fiction dystopia. What’s the difference anyway? It’s visually stunning, suspenseful, and full of sudden twists. There’s a stirring juxtaposition of joyful community and stark inhuman violence. A must watch.
