  so i read the book right before watching the movie. these boys totally romanticized these girl’s suffering and i think that the movie conveyed that better then the book did. it’s really a story about the boys and their obsession rather then the girls and their issues. even after all these years, the boys have grown to men and they still see these young girls as this untouchable force of mystery. when in reality they were just teenage girls with problems. sofia coppola did a really good job i think it’s just the story that i struggle to grasp. the AIR music was fantastic tho
