  I loved Shunji Iwai’s ability to capture loneliness, and his portrayal of complete uncertainty throughout the whole film. The possibility of a falsity exists in everything regarding Nanami, yet her actions remain genuine and sincere. There is a certain sense of purity in Nanami’s character, she produces a ceaseless supply of care and consideration, yet still she suffers through misunderstanding.
