Quality drastically PLUMMETS after the monopoly speech. Excellent start devolves into almost laughably nonsensical territory. This is what happens when you want your movie to have an interesting point and are willing to defy all logic, sense and character foundation to make it happen by the resolution. Silly.

I watched 5 Abel Ferrera films back-to-back and need to take a shower now.

Without question, it stands as the most unique vampire film I’ve ever seen. Vampirism here is less a supernatural affliction than a metaphor for humanity's dark and insatiable craving for violence, a thirst to which we are increasingly addicted. Plot? Stupid. Acting? Subpar. Dialogue? Atrocious. Decisions? Illogical. Twists? Nonsensical.

    Baffling.

This idea should have stayed a novel, or better yet, the “would you rather” prompt you’d ask an acquaintance after conversation has run dry. Downright silly. Bautista shows up to a cabin and plainly explains the premise of the movie to a character like a screenwriter pitching a terrible idea to a movie exec.

No care was given to the specificities of the mythology or their visions at all. They met on a message board. I guess the visions…
