  re-watching this after such a long time was a real treat! so many great visual effects and plenty of dumb jokes (that’s a good thing.) Kenny Baker is so adorable in this too ❤️ 

  aaand i forgot about the ending 😂

  “a24 template: the movie”! 

  lol nah, but i definitely did not enjoy this nearly as much as i thought i would. my copy of the tolkien translation is weathered from reading and re-reading, and i’m slightly embarrassed to say i even liked 1984’s sword of the valiant starring sean connery as the green knight. 

  of course it must be said, each department—art, camera, lighting, costume, editing, sound,  locations, post-production, set design—are all clearly top, top tier professionals and it shows…
