I really enjoyed this film. It had the things you look for in a solid anime film that’s based on a TV series!
✅ Our main characters doing cool shit
✅ Well-written enemies with interesting character traits
✅ Better animation than the show
✅ Awesome action sequences
✅ Well-written humor to keep our spirits up
And more! Is it one of the greatest anime films ever? No ha, not at all, but it’s solid for a Series anime film.
While I love BJH’s sense of humor, artistic eye, and production concepts that tackle the corruption of the highest class in our world, I was disappointed by this film.
Mickey 17 is a bunch of good ideas all thrown into two hours with no solid singular specific thing about it. The acting is… kinda bad. The plot is… kinda bad. The metaphors and comparisons to today’s political landscape are… badly reflected in this film.
This film made me feel condescended…
Beautiful cinematography, story, characters, and animation. Brutal ending though in a time when we need hope. The search for hope continues.
