  The Warriors 1979

  I found myself getting bored during the first few batches of chases on foot, because I didn’t really care about the protagonists. So, I wasn’t really rooting for them to make it through all the bad guys. I wish they could have endeared me some how, but we don’t get to see if they’re nice or funny or stand up guys. They get about as much screen time as the other gangs up until they need to run.

  I’m kinda whatever on this movie, but I feel in my bones that the next time I watch it that I will like it or appreciate it more. With anything absurdist, I feel like the second appraisal is where you can better know if you like something because, on initial viewing, you’re kinda just trying to parse what’s real and what’s not or what’s important and what’s not.
