Dumb, Funny, stupid, offensive, self aware, surreal, dumb, gorey, and Aussie as.
Nearly too dumb? But I laughed a fair bit and it didn’t overstay its welcome.

Some cool shots, some snappy editing, some great music, and a murder boomerang.

    The Forever Purge

    ★★★½

Brutal, unrelenting, violent, on the nose, action packed, and fun.

    Everything I expected.

Solid action, a cool and intense purge montage, over the top characters, kind of bad acting, quick and dirty violence, and one solid long take tracking shot.

Found the opening kind of.. disappointing. I didn’t really dig bringing the purge back via news exposition played over the top of the credits. Luckily I was back on board after about 40 minutes and I stayed there until the end.

Cool sets, great pacing (it changes things up just when it needs to), a few amazing stunts, a truly frightening reveal (that atmosphere!), some epic shots of the opera in the 20's, but maybe most importantly the best-named villain I've encountered in a movie.

Also I'm always a fan of movies getting the credit's out of the way early.

This is the earliest made film I've seen.. and it felt a bit like a stage…
