Malayalam cinema proved and gave hope to me again that you don't big idea, big setup or great theatre elevations for a film to work. Couldn't give out out all the emotions as I'm logging late but I absolutely loved it. Right from the first song, the film establishes the location to transport us into the world. After the trailer, I felt this would be one of those long, slow-burn but never knew this is one of my fav genre of films set within a time constraint and a thing that needs to be done.
Season 2
Didn't watch S1 (except for one epi). Liked the concept and the metaphors but it also made the series predictable and sometimes, too much on the face. Liked Kathir's performance and how he added lot of nuances to his scenes as a cynical and baggage-having cop. Many ideas on paper looks good but the staging and performances are sometimes not on par with it. The show's concept sometimes work against it by being predictable at places. At least…
I had watched this during Covid but completely forgot anything about this. Watchable
Really relatable, poignant, honest, and sweet film. Really loved the camera and soothing score. I have noticed that Thai filmmakers tend to have slow pans in their film and it perfectly works well. Loved watching a film with slow cuts and also loved the direction (staging and overall) of the film. As the ending is pretty known, I was ready for it and the impact was less for me.
