  into the Bonds that I actually remember phew thank god we're here - I prefer the grittiness of this and it's very rough around the edges, I think I also appreciate the imperfections that Bond clearly is given here in contrast to smarmy and annoying Brosnan vibes. There is also just way more poker in this film than I remember? Mads is obvs also very good.

  This:

  - a good action film
  - an average successor to the original
  - proves the sheer gravitas of Russell Crowe in the original
  - a bit of a mess at the start, it's basically the same film
  - too much for service, with too many big moments too often and dwelled on for too little
  - an absolutely 10/10 performance from Denzel Washington
  - an equally good performance from Connie Nielson but I may have loved an additional character thats a woman
  - the two emperors are such a good succession to Phoenix but in a non-repetitive way
  - Great spectacle throughout
