  Stands with HOUSE OF THE DEVIL as a film that perfectly captures the sights, sounds, and (somehow) smells of fall in New England. 

  Great, gentle vibes, and also very funny. I think there’s a whole hidden track of baseball stuff that went over my head and may have added an additional layer of enjoyment, but I never felt alienated.

  At the risk of accusing Kate Winslet of hyperbole, I don’t know if Andrea Riseborough gives the greatest female performance of all time in this but she is pretty good. Despite the shoestring budget and indie patina, this is sort of a straight down the middle addiction drama and I’m not surprised the Academy ate it up once a series of identically worded tweets alerted them to its existence.
