I thought this was an interesting take on historical phenomenon associated with comets and fringe science, taking the ordinary group of friends at a dinner party (already somewhat fraught with the tensions of people who might be better off not being friends) and their reaction to the events they experience.

A brilliantly put together imagining of the book, still frightens me every time I watch it. There's a few liberties from Shirley Jackson's Haunting of Hill House, but it maintains that consistently sinister air that makes it one of my favourites to this day.
This was an easy watch overall, Emma Thompson was as brilliant as ever and played her part as the prickly and exacting late night host with a flair for the dramatic excellently. Decent feel good film, not laugh out loud funny but some good moments.
Taking the trope of the host and applying it to a woman refreshed the feel but wasn't particularly ground breaking. A good movie to watch on an airplane.
