Enjoyed this immensely. Soderbergh keeps it brisk and sexy. The kind of expertly-made adult entertainment we’re starving for these days. Great casting all around - Fassbender and Blanchett are subdued, yet smoldering.

Payal Kapadia hitting all the right notes. A quietly hopeful, dizzyingly gorgeous film. An electric dream in blue. Millennium Mambo came to mind more than once. A deeply sensual and empathetic film and it finds a quiet kind of euphoria to close out on (with a hell of a closing shot). Hadn’t previously put much thought to the best looking films of the 2020s to date, but this is surely near the very top.

Grateful to watch this on Criterion, even though I’m all the more irked it never once played near me. Would jump at the chance to catch this on a big screen.

At the risk of this 4.5 star rating lookin a tad hyperbolic (1) this is extremely my jam, (2) Amanda Seyfried kills it, and (3) it just feels so damn good to say Atom Egoyan…welcome back. Seems pretty reasonable to declare this is his best since The Sweet Hereafter. Keep ‘em coming.

Hard to picture this with anyone but Pattinson at the center, and it really is an all-in kind of performance. But everyone here is just remarkably on the same wavelength, and the whole weirdo ensemble goes a long way to carry a film scarce on plot, but high on hijinks. Special shoutouts to Naomi Ackie, Patsy Ferran, Tim Key in a pigeon costume, and all the Ohmu from Nausicaa. Mark Ruffalo is having a blast channeling the absolute worst of humanity.
