Schlock master Paul W.S. Anderson takes a straight fantasy short story from George R.R. Martin and transforms it into a post-apocalyptic western fable.
Yeah, that makes sense.
Jokes aside, he beefs up the story quite well and slightly tweaks the relationships to form a highly enjoyable romp with solid lead performances. He also uses greenscreen better then most major studio flicks, creating a visually arresting aesthetic, even if the budget is clearly stretched at points.
Not exactly deep or profound but a fun time.
High energy, at times wantingly ludicrous and with an easy going tone, it is not hard to like this Bond outing.
