Strange Darling 2023
I think the first thing that jumps out about Strange Darling for me, is it’s chaptering structure. It’s something writer/director JT Mollner really uses to his advantage to deliver these anxiety inducing, suspense thriller sequences, followed by these wonderfully intimate (both erotic & spine chilling) moments between our characters, that puts the audience right where he wants them. Holy cow did Luca Guadagnino just pull off an insane magic trick. Like I expected to enjoy Challengers, as I love sexually driven psychological thrillers (and it’s been a minute) but I did not expect to walk out thinking that this might be one of my favorite movies of the year.
