  My very first VHS obsession, I rented this thing when I was five and continued to rent it every week, over and over.

  This was the first time I’d seen it since, and it was fascinating to consider how much this movie informed my sensibilities - essentially one long pop-music video with horny, hyper-color Looney Tunes energy. 

  The cast is stacked, the vibes are immaculate, the production design makes every frame a visual lollipop, but most of all, Julie-fucking-Brown.

  This is such a goddamned bop.
