  I’M SORRY, YOURE TELLING ME THIS DIALOUGELESS INDEPENDENT LATVIAN ANIMATED FILM WON BEST ANIMATED PICTURE?!? I’m in love with this movie; I adore and admire everything about it. The animation is so beautiful—there are some shots in this film that made my jaw drop from how amazing they looked. But what really made my jaw hit the ground is that this film is completely dialogueless—there isn’t a single word of dialogue in this movie. It's all animal sounds and grunts.…

  This movie's simplicity is all it needs to be great. The plain and simple camera angles and cinematography, the mundane and kinda shallow characters, and the way the snows contrast the blood so heavily all while complementing and mirroring the dense and bleak characters. At the end of the day, this movie isn't too special but how simple it is speaks volumes

  This film is cussing fantastic!
  You can just see the passion and creativity oozing through the screen. Every scene could be framed, put in a museum, and admired by millions for hours. The charm and humor are unmatched by anything ever. The pacing and storytelling are incredible, and the Ash subplot is sad but heartwarming. And the animation is just the icing on the cake, it's unique, cute, and artistic. This movie is everything you could ever want and more!
