  the first time I saw this I was on an airplane to Mexico and Your Name wasn't available in the US yet and then the flight encountered some turbulence so they shut off the in-flight movie right after he learns about the comet strike and I had to wait for 6 months for Your Name to come out on bluray in the US before I could finish the film

  the first one is remarkable for how much visual style he can pack into a tiny budget, but this sequel has so much more money and it looks amazing. George Miller understands that the only way to show blowing up a bunch of buildings is to construct a bunch of buildings and then blow them up

  every time they introduce a new character, I thought "now THAT is the biggest nose any character could have, no characters could possibly have a nose any bigger than that" and then the next character has an even bigger nose

  the hand drawn animation goes hard! the script is pretty faithful to the source material and STILL packs in several bops into a tight 80 minutes. good movie
