How chic. The real priase goes to the writing, characters, and acting. The wardrobe is also really superb (as you would expect), and the set design is actually pretty creative. Setups and camerawork? Sadly uninspired. You can do more than just cut to close ups during every emotional moment, and fall back to your wide in every punchline.

Poor Things 2023
Oh. There's a hybrid animal in the background, a ducks head on a dog's body. No sense, never mentioned, and all it does is show one simple thing. How far can one character go in the name of surgical intervention? This film opens that jar wide open and peaks into nooks and crannys of our deepest thoughts. Bella is an incredible character, and this film takes her on an extraordinary journey. Yorgos's anamorphic lenses are the best edition too close-ups where the background is out of focus, every detail layers in, and adds up. Extremely satisfying. 9.6/10.
