  Conceptually there’s so much interesting stuff here, especially considering 1984 release. I felt ending compromised the power of the film. Upon doing some research, it seems like this was a studio insistence against the directors wishes. 

  Trippy film, cool effects, I can see why it’s iconic. 

  A lot of dialogue is campy and cheesy, but it kind of enhances the vibe.
