I’ve been rewatching the Sam Raimi trilogy with my wife this past week. Still GOATed. But yesterday, my wife was working and I was sick at home, so I rewatched the entire Tom Holland trilogy on my own. I think when I originally rated these movies, I rated them lowly because I was being pretentious and wanted to appear more high-brow. The truth is that I freaking love these films. They are great. I smiled, I laughed, I cried. In fact I cried a whole lot. I love Spiderman so much.

Now, I will move…

As I walked out of the theater, my initial thought was that the pacing of this movie was really awkward. The climax of the film felt quick, dull, and underwhelming; and because of that, I didn’t even realize it had happened. I was expecting a new plot development, and was surprised when the film ended rather abruptly. Don’t get me wrong: on paper, the conflict does resolve—but the film still manages to lack any strong sense of finality. The plot feels…
