This film knows when ur comfortable bc then it starts ripping ppls heads off.
Confusing plot but gorgeous visuals and practical effects, I lost it when they pulled the “this character is too large to be an animatronic so the fight scene is stop motion.” Actually that whole final sequence made me lose it, the white walls crumbling away to reveal red wires the pristine peaceful image of the town crumbles away to reveal it’s controlled by violence? Keita Amemiya you son of a bitch.

This film was a staple of my childhood and probably the reason why I’m an incredibly sad person because what the fuck. Making me confront my own mortality at 7 years old? You’re sick. It’s an amazing story about the fears and prejudice of human beings and it’s told through a giant robot who wants to be superman.
