  A true classic in every sense of the word. Gene Wilder is perfectly cast as Willy Wonka and Peter Ostrum as Charlie Bucket. The songs are memorable and the characters are charming. It does have a sometimes dark and scary edge to it (particualrly the boat ride), but that's all part of the experience though. The German locations are wonderful and the sets are awe inspiring as are the costumes. One for everyone to see and enjoy.

  Diabolical. Were the filmmakers taking the piss? On the other hand this is one of the funniest movies ever made. It's so terrible that it's a masterpiece and I can't award it any less than five stars!
