I really enjoyed this!!! Yeah, yeah, the plot is pretty basic/the mystery doesn't drive the story—but the narration and the location do! Watching this on a hot, *hot* day in NYC, I was really empathizing with how sweaty the characters were getting.
I really enjoyed the very meta narration—it set the scene really effectively, and then continues to pop up, both underlining and undercutting the narrative. I love that the narrator is giving advice to both…

Was inspired to re-watch after re-watching Jaws, and with that fresh in mind, it was great to see so many references!! No doubt in my mind that I’m missing more (to Jaws and to many other movies, including the whole Godzilla canon, which I’m very behind on).

Okay, on one hand, I think this movie has had a huge impact on people's fear of sharks and lack of concern at their being hunted/killed. This is bad, sharks have done nothing wrong.
On the other hand… it's the perfect summer movie.
