The Gorge 2025
I will say I always appreciate an original idea and a big swing.
This was weird. The concept and mystery of the gorge was interesting and should have been the sole focus of the film. The romantic subplot was very 90s and while both leads are super hot, they have zero chemistry. This was tonally all over the map, there was some real wonky VFX, the mystery was not given nearly enough explanation or time to marinate, and the directing was disappointing from the usually great Scott Derrickson.

Better Man 2024
It is definitely the same musician biopic formula that so many other famous biopics have utilized, but the CGI ape element adds flair and whimsey. And because the lead character is fully CGI, they got real creative with the choreography, cinematography, editing, transitions, etc.
I'm not super familiar with Robbie Williams but damn if this chimp wasn't charming as hell. This movie hit a lot of familiar beats, but never felt stale. And it has a ton of heart, I got teary eyed a few times.

Who Done It: The Clue Documentary 2022
I loved getting to see the history behind one of my all-time favorite movies just as much as I hated actually watching and listening to this documentary.
Looks and sounds legitimately terrible, with some truly weird AI upscaling of old images and footage, the filming is awful, the sound is awful, the editing is awful with some of the interviews just rambling on and on forever, and the “host” of the doc is just filming on his phone while driving. Come on, man. Show a little effort.
It’s like a poorly-made YouTube video about a mostly pretty interesting topic.

Ugh it was fine I guess. But I hated every second of it. I do not think we should be giving these brain dead dipshits a platform to spew their absolute nonsense.
There is no evidence of widespread voter fraud, your votes were not stolen, the election wasn’t stolen. Y’all were so desperate to be patriot heroes but in reality, YOU are the criminals you claim to hate.
From a technical filmmaking standpoint, the interview camera angles were awful. Center framed low angle shooting right up people’s nostrils? And your B-cam is pointing down, 6 inches away from their face? Bizarre choices there.
