Second time, this time for Bad Movie Night!
Yup it was a good choice for that.
Some good cinematography.
I wonder how many other groups of people Audiard can piss off next time?

Of all the M:I movies this is the one that feels the most stuck in its time period, and by extension feels the least like a MI movies.
Over stylized as John Woo and the early 2000s was, it suffers from a really cringy script, with cheesy dialogue and no real fun. The score set the tone for the slow motion, close ups of glaring faces, all with a plodding pace. The story by credit to Brannon Braga makes all…
All the feels, every single feel was felt.
In the wrong hands this could have gone off the rails, been a tepid remake of a cult classic. Instead, due to the script and direction, it was one of the greatest movie experiences of my life.
Cruise is still the man, but the supporting cast really shines. Miles Teller is forever Anthony edwards son to me. Glen Powell and Monica Barbera are so entertaining and even the whole “bob” character worked…
Good not great. Plot meanders a bit in the 2nd act, didn’t need the “villain” in budget Henry cavill.
Powell is magnetic, funny, charming and real.
Great chemistry with Daisy. She hangs with the machismo very well. Love they had her morph into the Helen hunt outfit. Could be down for a sequel with them.
Great sound design, and appreciate more science. Maybe pick a lane and be either smart or dumb, not a bit of both?
