The film itself is entirely cyclical, the same sort of tropes happening over and over again throughout the storyline. Whenever there is a scene that happens to grab you in some way, its usually between Reg and Frances' characters but these are short lived and not enough to carry the film.

Riz Ahmed is phenomenal in this. The way the character and the screenplay was written, it would have been very easy to descend into some sort of melodramatic performance that would have taken away, in my opinion, most of the films impact. This dude says more with his eyes and facial expressions than the majority of his peers I would argue.
That next to last scene, where they both kinda know it's over. . . BRUTAL.
