After seeing the original and really enjoying it I came home and watched this. Lacked any of the charm or the characterization that made you care for the miners in the original.
It was fun watching out for the inevitable 3-D effect that came every 7 minutes or so.
This barely felt like a movie.
Watched this for Zach’s Fun Time Movie Club expecting some gory schlock but this was genuinely a fantastic genre film.
The setting was incredible, the mine was already scary and the maniac just enhanced what was already there. I also loved the scene with all the miner’s uniforms, it was so claustrophobic. Inventive, gory kills with amazing practical effects too.

My first Lynch. It was a lot. Looking forward to a second viewing so I can piece more of it together.
My favorite part was when Patrick Fischler’s character sees something so upsetting that he simply passes away.
