I’m not a massive fan of found footage films, but I think it really added to the simplicity of what I think Creep was going for. There were ridiculous hilarious parts to the film which only added to my wariness and uncertainties towards Mark Duplass’ character. Duplass did a great job, probably the best if seen him do. This felt fresh and quite unrestrained, something that’s often missing in horrors. This film stayed with me, which the best horrors do. I’m excited to try the sequel soon.

Cruella 2021
Cruella was a really fun 2 hours. It catered for kids and adults too with its humour and sometimes quite deep ideas around identity and family. Emma Stone always shines and Cruella is no exception. The costume department did an incredible job and is one of the big showcases for me in Cruella. I felt some of the kid actors were quiet lacklustre, also Horace’s character was played so on the nose and uninspired. The music really added to the joy of the film, whilst also fitting the time it was set.

Cats 2019
This definitely wasn’t as horrifically awful as it’s made out to be. Don’t get me wrong it’s massively flawed in many ways, but there’s still moments of fun and good music. Corden was actually my favourite part of it all, I thought he was the funniest part. It majorly faults with oddly sexual movement, cringe jokes, mostly bad songs and weird pacing resulting in an hour and 45 of introductions that never go too deep. I won’t be watching it again any time soon.

WandaVision 2021
Olsen & Bettany were both magnificent and I now have a greater appreciation and understanding for the characters. Hanh couldn’t have done a better job, she was such an important part of the tapestry. The finale was definitely a disappointment as there were weeks of theorising & speculation that didn’t amount to much. Overall I’m so happy this exists in the MCU and it has re-instilled into me so much excitement for Marvel again. WandaVision beautifully tackles grief in a distinctly original way.
