  Constrains itself well within the limits of the genre. Exactly what a musical biopic aught to be.

  There is no reason to say telling a meet cute story non-linearly can't work, just that this one didn't.

  The best moments of this film are shouldered by the actors who managed to breathe some life in what are ultimately extremely stock and bland characters.
