“I must say, I find that girl utterly delightful. Flat as a board, enormous birthmark the shape of Mexico over half her face, sweating for hours on end in that sweltering kitchen, while Mendl, genius though he is, looms over her like a hulking gorilla. Yet without question, without fail, always and invariably, she's exceedingly lovely.”

I needed a fun and happy film so this would obviously be the first thing I turn to.

Unbelievably good and finally giving it the five stars it deserves.

That ending is so abrupt though🥺

It’s Christmas morning, I’ve ate practically an entire Terry’s chocolate orange while watching this masterpiece in bed.

This movie just gives you that feeling that everything will be okay❤️

I hope anyone reading that celebrates has the best Christmas🎄

RIGHT okay so I’ve just very quickly added reviews to my last few films and now doing the same to this.

I’m finding it like a chore to log and review and rate films and sort them into lists it’s a bit annoying really.

Anyway I had lots of points I wanted to make about this that I’ve forgot. It just didn’t grab me. I’m not a Bob Dylan fan and knew nothing about him at all but that isn’t…

Funny and emotional in a painfully beautiful balance.

Packed deep with food for thought, in part thanks to the added context of the Irish Civil War.

I saw one review that asked is it more important to be nice or to be remembered? A question that closely reminded me of Portrait of a Lady on Fire. Two films that make the viewers question the value of many things and choices within their lives.

Subtle performances with emotions below the surface often bubbling through perfectly mirror the story itself.

Hopefully will catch this again, very happy.

    What. The. Fuck.

Why did I choose to watch this by myself?😭

    Here’s a few points!

I knew absolutely nothing at all about the film before going to watch it, that was a really smart idea. Was terrifying being completely in the dark.

I had no idea what to expect next at any point in the film ever. This is how you subvert expectations and throw people off and mess with their head.

The camera work is PHENOMENAL. Every single…
