  The oppressive, monochromatic atmosphere of Nosferatu pulled me in completely. Yet, despite an effective stream of dread, it never rose beyond the ominous groundwork of its first half or reached the highs of Eggers’ earlier work.

  Also, there were nosfera-too many jumpscares for my liking. (Sorry)
