Barbie 2023
Doesn’t advance the movement. Came out to late and it’s focus is on a toy too centered in the past and how the problem played into problems of the past but in doing so relives largely solved problems and by over stereotyping it hurts the movement. All that being said, sparks a conversation whether productive or not and makes you think. I found my conversation required too much justification and critique on how it was done and not why it was done, which in my mind is not a failure but a missed opportunity.
