  Predictable, and oftentimes heavy-handed (the bombing outside the Sistine Chapel during the Conclave), but I’m sucker for a de-facto Prom King gossip-fest, and Ralph Fiennes is very very good as always. 
  Also, how in the hell did Isabella Rossellini get nominated for this? (I know how, but like come on.)

  Rosanna Arquette is spectacular. Jill Rosen isn’t perfect, at times she’s downright mean, but I really do just want to spend as much time with her as possible.

  Michael Mann directs the shit out of this. He mines the Thomas Harris novel to make a movie about obsession, practically creating the stylish psycho-thriller genre in the process. The middle 3rd of the film is ridiculously good.
