  Science fiction, at least the science fiction that I love, is not easily represented in film. My favorite sci-fi novels, like Foundation, 2001, the Dune series, Dragon's Egg, have the freedom to put plot proceedings on hood in order to flesh out technologies, mechanics, and internal logic that control the world it creates.
