a shoo in for best picture, and possibly even the "big five" oscar awards. only three films have won all five of the oscars biggest awards (best pic, best actor etc), but this film so rightly deserves to be a apart of that short and esteemed list
One of the most noticeable aspects of this movie from the very first few minutes, is how claustrophobic the setting and atmosphere is. Between the station and civilisation is hundreds of miles of dangerous polar desert.
In horror movies set in a quiet surburbia or a bustling city, or even the countryside, there is always a semblance of hope that at least the protagonist can escape, or someone can be called to come help.

so cliche it would do better as a dark comedy, rather than a starkly serious drama which mostly bored me throughout
