Vidaamuyarchi 2025
Magizh Thirumeni stays true to the film’s genre without any unnecessary frills. The storytelling remains subtle, avoiding over-the-top mass elements. Ajith delivers an earnest performance, giving his best. While the film may not appeal to a family audience, it has its share of hits and misses. The Hollywood-style treatment is commendable, though some aspects could have been better developed.

Dominic and the Ladies' Purse 2025
Dominic and the Lady’s Purse is a decent watch, primarily thanks to Mamooka. While it has a few interesting sequences, there are also some bland ones. However, it’s refreshing to see Gautham collaborating with other writers, as it allows him to explore different approaches even though this one largely works because of the lead. There’s a scene between Dominic and the Bharatanatyam dancer that feels reminiscent of Yennai Arindhaal, along with a few of GVM’s signature touches scattered throughout the film, which was nice to see as a fan.

Star 2024
*Theater watch*
Elan, as a director, achieves a significant victory with this film. He skillfully captures the emotions of an underdog story. While there are some pacing issues in the second half, the overall emotional impact is so strong that minor flaws are easily overlooked. Kavin delivers a remarkable performance, showcasing various looks and a range of emotions. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music serves as the heart and soul of the movie.

Don 2022
*Theater watch*
Don is a tailor made role for SK, he carries the whole film from the start to the end.
The humour works at some places and provides decent entertainement.
The over emotional last act drags too much even the genuine act by SK and Samuthirakani can’t save it. SJ Suryah’s hysterical acting became too repetitive.
An ordinary film which is either good or bad.
