I enjoyed this movie, but it was a bit forgettable in certain aspects. The fact that these two teens are trapped inside a 1960’s movie with a plot that the girl, Mack, acknowledges is silly, makes the climax of the movie feel too goofy. I liked Mack’s internal conflict, but I didn’t feel like we could see Inside her head well enough. I couldn’t figure out what she was thinking or feeling.
I will say, Cruisin’ For A Bruisin’ is, in my
opinion, one of the best DCOM songs ever. The songs in this movie are definitely lots of fun.

Probably my least favorite of the trilogy, though I still enjoyed it. It was a little too rushed; I didn’t like that they took down the barrier because they released a ton of criminals by doing that. I also didn’t like that Mal’s relationship with her father wasn’t developed enough—it didn’t feel like he deserved her affection at the end. But the movie did make me cry twice, so that’s saying something. Once again, absolutely love the aesthetics of this trilogy.
iconic; enjoyed even though I didn’t remember the plot at all. the ending felt very contrived, but the diversity of having a Southern black girl, a mixed-Latina, a foster child, a biracial black girl made the 2003 movie feel fresh and bumped it from a 3 to a 4 star. still in love with the song Cinderella.
