Couple things, likely all spoilers:

- Mickey 18 sounded like the Robert’s Batman

- concept was intriguing and fun, Tight first act — then it meandered a bit. There was a lot being covered and it got a bit overwhelming

This was a fun film but then I looked up why it was in black&white and the director said that hip hop is often sexualized & by taking the color out it forces you to see a certain level of humanity & i just feel like if they couldnt find a colorist just say that cause that statement don’t make no type of sense and actually begs the question, who’s humanity are you trying to prove and to whom and why? Got to go early in June for a market research watch and the effects weren’t done, so that was wild. Second watch was with the folks who made it and each time I understood it more but was a tad underwhelmed. It was great filmmaking and acting and a good film generally, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like the story was buried too deeply behind the point.

But regardless, all I know is this the type of film…
